Alice Springs
Welcome in Alice Springs. Alice Springs is quite small (pop 25,000), it just lives on tourism. After checking-in, we hired a bike and made a bike-tour to the Desert Park... almost crazy to hire a bike if outside it is more than 35°... The Desert Park represents the region's unique flora and fauna. The park touches on the traditional relationship of Aboriginal people with the land. And if it wouldn't be as hot as it was, you could spend the half day on walking around and have a look at all these beautiful plants and animals.
The only thing, which was really annoying, was, that in Alice Springs were so many little flies. They were everywhere and you spent the whole time to get them out of your face. That was Renada at the desert park protectin herself of the flies... and that's Renada after buying this really funny looking headnet.. but it worked!

Adelaide
There was not so much to do in Adelaide. We just walked around and visited the parks, the parliament and a heaps of museums. It was very interesting. Before I came to Australia I didn't know much of it. But by-and-by, after visiting museums and talking to people, I'm learning more and more about its history, culture, lifestyle, politics and especially a lot of the sad story of Aboriginal people.
When we were in Adelaide, we had luck... From the 25th of september- 2st of october there was the "World Solar Challenge" going on in Adelaide. More than 11 countries designed and built a car capable of crossing Australia on the power of daylight. The participants traversed more than 3,000k- they started in Darwin and hopefully finished in Adelaide. The first team arriving in Adelaide was the Dutch team (Nuna 3). Everybody was so excited and it was just amazing. Driving more than 3,000k only with the assistance of sun...
For everybody who wants to know more about it, have a look on their homepage: www.wsc.org.au

On monday night we went to the casino. The casino was sooo huge. The main gaming floor of the Casino stretches for more than half a kilometre and includes a series of smaller rooms. First they didn't want me to get in, coz as usual I forgot my ID-card... But after talking to the manager of the casino, they bent the rules and I discovered my preference for playing "Dance Dance Revolution".

MELBOURNE
After about one hour flight we arrived in Melbourne.
Melbourne is the second largest city of Australia and its really old city center is mixed with new modern buildings. Especially the nightlife of Melbourne is pretty cool- there are many pubs, bars, clubs and you can meet so many stylish people... Unfortunately the most of the very good looking guys were gay.

Melbourne- Adelaide- Alice Springs- Uluru (Ayers Rock)- Sydney
Hey guys... today is the first day of our "springbreak". Tonight there is a huge party in town and tomorrow we will start the next crazy trip. Our first stop is Melbourne, where we probably go to a "Black Eyed Peas"- concert on sunday night (with Newy and Richie) ... I hope we still get tickets, we are checking Ebay every hour, but it seems like Australians like them pretty much and so the tickets are sold by more than $150 each... I hope we still get some a few hours before the concert starts, otherwise we'll find another place where we can spend all our money! ... On Tuesday we will go to Adelaide- stay there a few days- and then we fly to Alice Springs and make a 3 days trip to the outback of Australia- visiting Uluru and sleeping in the outback... I am sure it will be an impressive trip. We will be back home on the 5th or 6st of october... talk to you if I'm back... kiss
